True North Climbing Team

Our Competitive Climbing Program is for the most dedicated kids who want to grow into strong climbers and seek to push themselves to reach their potential.

Team members train 2-3 times a week for 3 hours per practice. The members are selected through tryouts and an invitation by the head coach. We have kids ranging from E category (Age 7 – 9) to Juniors (18/19) on our Youth Competitive Team.

Competition Season

The team competes in the Ontario Climbing Federation Youth Series in both Bouldering and Difficulty disciplines. Season runs from October to May (See Season Schedule Here). Competitors earn series points based on their competition results in pursuit of the Ontario Cup in each age/gender category. There is also a National Championship held for each discipline, and Ontario’s top athletes earn the right to compete at those events.

Team Fee Breakdown

Each member is expected to provide their own equipment: harness, shoes, chalk bag, rope and belay device (if leading). The team fee covers training, coaching at competitions, uniforms and a gym membership.

Code of Ethics

Because we feel strongly about fair play and proper behaviour by everyone who represents True North, we ask all competitors, parents of youth competitors, coaches and other officials to sign our Competition Code of Ethics.
