NextGen Program
Program Description
The NextGen Program is designed for kids from ages 5-9 who show great potential in climbing and is our pathway to be on the Youth Competitive Team. Each class will focus on a specific technique to learn or practice. We repeat some of the skills so they can hone in and fully understand the techniques.
The OCF (Ontario Climbing Federation) is our provincial member of the CEC (Climbing Escalade Canada), which represents competition climbing in Canada.
The athletes compete based on their age category and the youngest age to compete is 8-10 years old, in E-Category. This program gives your kids the skills they need before they transition into a team environment. It can also give them time to practice their technique, to have them competition ready by the time they are old enough.
We regularly set mock competitions, both bouldering and top rope, to allow the kids to try competing in a safe simulated environment.
