Professional Route Setter
Not currently hiring.
Route setters are required to create and maintain the routes and boulders at True North Climbing. Route setters must be able to provide creative and challenging routes that represent the quality of product that True North Climbing offers.
The ideal candidate will possess a broad technical knowledge and experience in climbing both lead and bouldering, work well in a team environment, be able to give and take constructive criticism where necessary, be creative and physically fit.
Specific Duties:
- Reports to Head Routesetter
- Route and boulder problem setting and forerunning
- Storing and maintaining holds, volumes, gear and supplies
Desired Experience/Availability:
- At least 1 year experience regularly setting in a commercial facility preferably on ropes as well as bouldering
- This is a part time position between 1-3 shifts a week. Setting is normally done weekdays from 9am-5pm.
Setting is normally done weekday mornings and early afternoon.
Employees who maintain 32 hours per week or more on a sustained basis are also eligible for the comprehensive company benefit plan.
Climbing Instructor

Specific Duties:
- Ensuring new visitors have a fantastic first experience with us
- Introducing climbing safety to new climbers
- Teaching customers to tie-in and top-rope belay using a Petzl GriGri
- Teaching customers to safely use auto belay systems
- Ensuring safety of staff and customers within the facility
- Conducting belay tests
- Using Rock Gym Pro to check in customers and process sales
Desired Qualifications (not strict prerequisites before hiring):
- Standard First-Aid with CPR-C
- ACMG or CWA Climbing Gym Instructor Certification
- Police Background check
Note: Instructor shifts are largely weekday evenings and weekends.
Assistant Coach - Youth Climbing Competitive Program

Specific Duties:
- Support the Head Coach in developing and implementing training programs for competitive youth climbers
- Coaching athletes, fostering a positive and motivating environment
- Assisting with administrative tasks related to the climbing program.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a passion for climbing
- Experience in coaching youth athletes
- A commitment to developing their kids skills and potential
Coaching starting wage is between $20 per hour, based on experience.
Coaches that are required to attend competitions will be paid for their time and will have all expenses paid by True North.
Youth Recreational Program Teacher
Not currently hiring.
Youth Recreational Program Teachers lead classes of climbers between 8-18 years old, from beginners to experienced climbers striving for mastery. Employees in this role deliver the curriculum provided each week by the program director while fostering a fun, encouraging environment for their climbers.
Head Coach - Youth Climbing Competitive Program

The ideal candidate will possess a broad technical knowledge of coaching for all skill levels, have strong leadership skills, must be able to oversee coaching staff, and has a dedication to promoting excellence and safety in climbing.
Specific Duties:
- Reports to General Manager
- Provide high-quality coaching to all individuals, focusing on technique, skill development, strength training, injury prevention, and mental preparation.
- Design and implement a progressive coaching curriculum tailored to the needs and goals of climbers at various skill levels.
- Lead and manage a team of coaches to ensure high-quality instruction in a positive, supportive learning environment.
- Regular check in’s with coaching staff and provide constructive feedback and support for their professional development.
- Maintain a strong knowledge of climbing techniques, training methods, and the latest industry trends to continuously improve coaching programs.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing competitor/parent concerns, answering inquiries in a timely manner, and fostering positive relationships with all athletes, parents and the community.
- Handle administrative tasks related to the coaching program, including scheduling, budgeting, uniforms and reporting.
Desired Experience:
- A minimum of 1 year experience in a coaching role
- Experienced lead climber who can predict fall zones & read clipping stances from the ground
- Great communication/customer service skills
- Standard First-Aid with CPR-C
- Police Background check
Supervisor
Not currently hiring.
- Directs instructors and event hosts
- Ensures smooth and safe day-to-day operation of the gym
- Reports to assistant and general managers
Marketing and Communications

- Manages website and social media
- Creates advertising and informational content
